Mo Mamma is a bittersweet homage to Mamma, told through the raw, loving tension between a mother (Karin) and her daughter (Mari) as they face the impending death of Mamma—Karin’s mother and Mari’s grandmother. Grief brings out their sharpest edges, and they lash out at each other in moments of pain, yet within their bond, unconditional love allows for everything—anger, absurdity, tenderness. Woven through their journey are fragments of archive footage capturing Mamma’s serene and ordinary life, offering a quiet contrast to the emotional chaos. A feminine, absurd, and intimate reflection on generational love, loss, and the strange beauty in between.
